And we are up!

Greetings and salutations from our spanky new travel blog!

Thinking of our blog name that wasn't a horrible pun or already used has been ridiculously difficult. You have to think of something original, fairly creative and somewhat travel related. That's alot of pressure hanging over what will be our home on the web for the forseeable future. It's like picking an email address. You want to pick something interesting and memorable, but not too hard to spell or one that will hit you like a hangover when you reach midlife and realise orlandobloom4eva.com was not your finest hour.

Even if he is so so pretty!

I tried to find inspiration from other travel blogs, but found most were either slightly pretentious pun-er-ific or so ridiculously cool....like "To Uncertainty & Beyond" (true uncertainty and infinity aren't EXACTLY alike but....shh!)

This is when I should list some of my wonderfully awful ideas but I am too ashamed. They weren't even worthy of pun! I tried splicing travel idioms into something literary and cool...not a chance. Maybe something nerdy and unique....but no dice. Or Maybe some great play on a famous movie (since Lex and I are such movie-geeks), but no....my tiny ineffectual mind was blank. I could hear tumbleweeds casually blowing from one ear to the next. As I prepared to lob my laptop through a nearby window in a desperate fit to garner artist brilliance, Alex casually peered over my shoulder and remarked off-hand

"Gee, if I had a travel blog I would name it Didi's and Gogo's Excellent Adventure"

Wait a minute.....literary and cool......nerdy and unique.....film reference......SUCCESS!!!

After pointing out that indeed we DO have a travel blog and CAN name it after the awesomeness that is Didi and Gogo, we scrambled online to check if the domain was free.

It was! And so here we are, taking the first baby steps on the epic-ness that will be Didi and Gogo's. They may be very tiny baby steps, but steps all the same.
