Hi, Aloha, Hola, Ni Hao and Yo!



I'm Tasha, and he's Alex....or I'm Alex and she's Tasha...It does tend to vary. We are a couple of nerds who one day, quite unexpectedly had the somewhat stupid idea to empty our apartment, sell all our stuff, grab our passports and head out the door.

This is our travel diary, our advice column, our budget ledger, our soapbox and our wall of inspiration. We aim to entertain, educate, expose and perhaps endear you to some of the eclectic and exquisite eccentricities this world has to offer. (and to occasionally overdo it on the alliteration)

We are not extraordinary people, we're not particularly special. We are not wealthy nor have incredibly well-paid, location-independent jobs. There is nothing on this website that requires any specialty skills or knowledge. 

Tasha is simply a hyperactive netflix obsessive who is paradoxically organised, techsavvy and ridiculously addicted to sugar.

Alex on the other hand has a strange inconsistent aversion to technology, an infatuation with linguistics, a fascination with religion, and quite simply loves food.  He also enjoys using big words to make himself sound smarter than he is.

We left Australia in August 2013 and haven't really looked back. There's too much ahead to look forward to. To observe, to document, to play with, to take photos of, and to poke with really big sticks.

There is nothing here that isn't incredibly do-able. And we plan to do as much as possible.

...and take plenty of selfies!
