Thoughts from Middle Earth

by Tasha in New Zealand, Nerd

I consider myself a movie buff, and there are few movie universes I adore as much as Middle Earth. I love everything about these films and they are as close to true immersion as you can come in today's society. One does not simply stroll in and watch 30 minutes of a Lord of the Rings film - these films require time, effort and anticipation, all which are richly rewarded in a 13 and a half hour experience that will stay with you for days after.

On that note, after watching The Hobbit: An Unexpeded Journey (yes, we were awesome people and saw it on Boxing Day like all diehard fans), we decided to go the whole hog and spend an entire day watching the full series. To honour this day, the most hallowed of days, we bring you our favourite real-life movie locations from our favourite film series.

Disclaimer:
Yes we have visited all of these locations
Yes they are all in New Zealand
Yes there are some missing from this list
Yes they are all as awesome and lifechanging as their movie counterparts
and Yes we are judging you ever so slightly if you have not seen them yourself :)
